The Canby Academy, based in Canby, OR, is dedicated to fostering athletic excellence and personal growth for young soccer players. By combining top-tier coaching with a focus on teamwork and leadership, the academy prepares players for success on and off the field.

Academy Programs

  • Ages: 2015 & 2014

    The U11 age group will be introduced into the 9v9 game as the U12 age group will refine their tactical knowledge with 9v9 and start to prepare for the game of soccer of 11v11.

    Focus:

    ·       To develop more complex movement skills using agility and mobility along with increasing balance and strength.

    ·       Develop tactical understanding to be able to solve situations on the field

    ·       Understand movements between themselves and their teammates along with spatial awareness

    ·       To use more complex player actions and incorporate combination play (2v1, wall pass, etc.)

    ·       To understand and execute the team's style of play along with attacking, defending, and transitional moments. Learning roles and responsibilities within the formation

    Programming:

    ·       Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring Training

    ·       Two team trainings per week

    ·       Fall & Spring OYSA League Play

    ·       1 technical training per week in a 4 to 6-week block

    ·       Leadership sessions through the BCSA Soar Program (5-6 per year)

    ·       State Cup/Presidents Cup Entry

    ·       Additional Tournaments/Jamborees (optional)

    ·       Player Assessments

    ·       Year-long curriculum plan

    ·       1-2 Community Involvement Events per year

    Fees:

    U11/U12 : $1575.00

    All BCSA players will be offered a payment plan.

     Fees DO NOT include the following:

    ·       Registration fees, Coaches Travel, Personal Travel for any additional event or tournament.

    ·       Bridge City Uniform Kit

  • Ages: 2013 & 2012

    The U13 age group will be introduced to the 11v11 format, while the U14 age group will continue to develop and refine their understanding of the full-sided game model.

    Focus:

    • Continue to develop the concepts and skills introduced during the U11/U12 years

    • Implement injury prevention strategies

    • Build on game-like situations, adding more complexity to help players recognize visual cues and problem-solve based on what they see

    • Develop alignment of movements in relation to teammates, opponents, and the location of the ball

    • Encourage the interchanging of roles on the field

    • Advance player actions with increased complexity—introducing variations in textured passes, turns, moves, and ways to receive and control the ball

    • Strengthen team principles across all four moments of the game: attacking, defending, and both transitions

    • Foster player-to-player coaching and teamwork

    These age groups will continue to grow within the 11v11 format, with an increased focus on complexity and specificity—both in the overall game and in their individual roles.

    Focus:

    • We utilize a variety of activities designed to develop technical skills—combining technique with decision-making—through realistic, game-like situations.

    • Training blocks will follow our club curriculum, ensuring a consistent and progressive development path.

    • Player workloads will be carefully managed throughout the year to ensure peak performance at key times, with built-in periods of mandatory rest to support long-term health and recovery.

    • Functional training will be introduced and sustained, helping players understand the specific demands—both technical and tactical—of their individual positions.

    • For players interested in pursuing soccer at the collegiate level, we offer guidance and support throughout the college recruitment process to help them navigate opportunities and showcase their abilities.
