Training Approach

  • Continue to develop the concepts and skills introduced during the U11/U12 years

  • Implement injury prevention strategies

  • Build on game-like situations, adding more complexity to help players recognize visual cues and problem-solve based on what they see

  • Develop alignment of movements in relation to teammates, opponents, and the location of the ball

  • Encourage the interchanging of roles on the field

  • Advance player actions with increased complexity—introducing variations in textured passes, turns, moves, and ways to receive and control the ball

  • Strengthen team principles across all four moments of the game: attacking, defending, and both transitions

  • Foster player-to-player coaching and teamwork

At this age, players are introduced to a variety of activities designed to develop technical skills—combining technique with decision-making—through realistic, game-like situations.

As many players experience growth spurts during this stage, we create flexible training groups that support continued development and meet each player at their current stage of growth.

Recognizing that players often participate in multiple sports and may face overuse injuries, our training sessions are designed to be adaptable. We prioritize smart workload management, allowing athletes to stay active while minimizing physical strain.

The focus of each session is on building technical ability and decision-making through both small-sided and full-sized games.
